London October 1, 2019 — XMedius, a global leader in the field of secure enterprise communications solutions, announces that it has secured Cyber Essentials certification for the company’s European Cloud infrastructure after independent, third-party verification.
The majority of cyberattacks typically use relatively simple methods which exploit basic vulnerabilities in software and computer systems. The UK Government-backed Cyber Essentials scheme operated by the National Cyber Security Centre, part of GCHQ, aims to address obvious weaknesses by ensuring a consistent quality foundation for data security standards in order to protect against these common attacks.
“XMedius is delighted to be able to offer customers additional peace of mind with regard to cybersecurity,” said Jean Champagne, President and Chief Executive Officer, XMedius Solutions inc. “As an important element for systems handling sensitive and personal information within the public sector, this certification is key to the continued uptake of XM SendSecure and XM Fax in the NHS and other public sector bodies.”
Dictating the level of cybersecurity necessary for many UK government contacts, Cyber Essentials compliance requires protections across five technical control themes covering firewalls, secure configuration, user access control, malware protection and patch management.
