Numara FootPrints CMDB
Our Graphical Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is the foundation
on which Incident Management, Problem Management, and Change Management
issues are connected. A CMDB helps organise an accurate picture
of all configuration items in your organisation, their attributes
and relationships - allowing you to manage risk assessment, analyse
change impact, and gain control over the core business services
that you provide. Your CMDB lies at the core of your service offering.
It can be used potentially by everyone in IT, and non-IT, for a
multitude of purposes and integrated with all the other ITIL processes.
Take control of your infrastructure and quickly create a centralised
repository of your assets without any programming.
Ensure that all configuration items (CI's) and their relationships
to other CIs are accurate, up-to-date and visible.
Manage CI's and their relationships in a fully integrated configuration
management database (CMDB) with minimal time to productivity.
Visualise the relationships between CI's and supported IT services,
dynamically, using a graphical display with drill-down capability.
Automatically import CI data from Numara Asset Manager, a CSV file
or a SQL database table or view
Decisions on how to utilise resources effectively can impact your
business. You need to know where to find available resources at
the right time in order to meet your service desk initiatives and
SLAs. Configuration Management has become a critical technology
component because of its ability to maximise efficiencies, bridge
IT with business silos, ensure configuration compliance and speed
up problem solving efforts via its integration with the service
desk. By establishing and using a single source for Configuration
Management to manage critical system information, you align your
organisation’s business and IT strategies, resulting in improved
productivity and profitability.
A Configuration Management Database (CMDB) is at the core of your
service operations. It consists of Configuration Items (CIs) that
can represent anything that IT manages or monitors, including hardware,
software, documentation, people and services. The CMDB is intended
to be a controlled repository of information components that are
essential for running your business. Among the multiple key benefits
Configuration Management can deliver includes ensuring that all
information pertaining to CI's, and their relationship to other
CIs, is accurate, up-to-date and highly visible. The implementation
of a CMDB empowers your service desk with the ability to manage
CI's and their relationships better within a fully integrated CMDB.
If you don’t know what assets you own and how they relate
to each other, they become much harder to manage. However, many
organisations perceive Configuration Management as an overwhelming,
costly process characterised by failed implementations and tools
that require complicated programming. This is not the case with
Numara® FootPrints® Configuration Management. With its fast
implementation, and automated integration with auto-discovery tools,
Numara FootPrints takes the pain and time out of creating and maintaining
a functional CMDB. And based on the
Numara FootPrints’ unique architectural design, it can be
used potentially by anyone in non-IT groups for a wide range of
purposes as well as IT.
